Understanding additional charges on invoices
When reviewing your invoices, you may notice additional charges labelled as "direct compliance" or adjustments related to user count changes. These charges are applied under specific circumstances outlined in your contract. Below, we explain the reasons behind these charges and how they are calculated.
What is a "Direct Compliance" charge?
A "direct compliance" charge is applied when the number of users on your account exceeds the limit specified in your contract. This charge reflects the cost of accommodating additional users beyond your contracted limit.
Example: If your contract allows for 50 users and your account usage increases to 51 users, a direct compliance charge will be generated to account for the extra user.
Why do billing adjustments occur?
Billing adjustments occur when there is a change in the number of users on your account. If you add a new user, the system automatically adjusts your billing to reflect this change. Depending on your billing terms, the charge for the additional user may be pro-rated or applied in full. This ensures that your account remains compliant with the terms of your contract.
How are these charges calculated?
The calculation of these charges depends on:
Your Contractual User Limit: The maximum number of users allowed under your current contract.
Billing Terms: Whether charges for additional users are prorated or applied in full.
User Count Changes: The number of users added beyond the contractual limit.
By monitoring your user count and understanding your contract terms, you can anticipate and manage these charges effectively.
